Keeping high spirits of Madhya Pradesh, Sehore's Bushra Khan has shown the power of daughters along with her capabilities by winning silver medal in 1500 meters race at Khelo India Games. Bushra, who is famous as ‘Udanpari’(flying girl) in her city, said that she is not only father's angel but also Udanpari.
Bushra, who has won five national medals by winning the silver medal, said that I was completely broken after the death of my father, but after the continuous efforts of the family and coach SK Prasad to boost the morale, this success has been achieved today. She said that I want to keep this medal in my heart. I dedicate it to my father. Because today I have come to this stage only because of him. Even though he is not in the world today, but the things taught by him give me courage.
Bushra said that she is not happy to win silver because she worked hard to win gold but sometimes some things happen suddenly, due to which the performance comes down. In the month of May , 2023, Bushra was about to go to France for a tournament but she could not get a visa and at the same time her father died in an accident.
Bushra not only overcome the shock but also put full force in her game and won the silver medal. Bushra won the silver medal by clocking 4:44:39 seconds on the ground of her own practice stadium. She finished just a few seconds behind Jharkhand's Asha Kiran, who won the gold medal in 4:43:50.
Popularly known as Udanpari in her hometown, Bushra had earlier grabbed headlines by winning gold in the same event at the 2019 National Junior Athlete Championship in 4 minutes 53 seconds.
