Several sports academies in Chhattisgarh in the last four years during the Covid-19 pandemic have set new records by developing sports activities and grooming sports talents.
A Non-Residential Girls’ Football Academy and a Residential Athletic
Academy were set up between 2020 and 2022 amid the Coronavirus pandemic by the government, an official statement said on Tuesday.
In 2022, a Residential Academy/Excellence Center in Bilaspur and an Archery Residential Academy in Raipur were started.
Similar centers of excellence for archery, hockey and athletics were developed in Bilaspur. An archery sub-centre and a Girls Kabaddi Academy came up also in Bilaspur.
A Residential Archery Academy, a Non-Residential Football (Girls) and a Non-Residential Athletic Academy are operational in Raipur, the statement said.
The players of these academies have won several medals for the state.
Earlier, only two non-residential academies for hockey and archery were approved in the state.
