The term "Transgenderor LGBTQIA+" refers to people whose gender identification and/or gender expression varies from the sex they were given at birth. The transgender community does not exist in a vacuum. Transgender people have a wide range of sexual orientations, gender expressions and gender transgender employees have been hired as crane operator trainees by Tata Steel KalinganagarTata Steel has hired 12 transgender crane operator trainees at its Kalinganagar plant as part of its ongoing effort to expand its transgender workforce.

Tata Steel's West Bokaro Division had previously hired 14 transgender people as Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) operators at its mines in December 2021. Menstrual leave, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ partners, gender neutral parental leave, and support for gender confirmation are among the company's other D&I efforts.

Tata Steel has set a goal of having a diverse workforce of 25% by 2025.identities, which are unaffected by physical appearance, biological sex, or medical procedures. LGBTQIA+ are emerging from the margins to fight for an equal place in society. Nowadays corporate and government are continuously taking numerous steps for inclusion of LGBTQIA+ at workplace.

These companies have also busted the myth that by openly supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, they would lose out on customers.However, amidst this great progress, there is more work to be done.

For majority of the working professional, work is stressful on its own. But the people of LGBTQIA+ community carries an additional emotional weight of denial and suppression to one of the most important fundamental aspects of who they are; their gender identity, because it doesn’t conform with society’s norms regarding gender expression.

It is essential for every organization to ensure that the person who works hard and contributes to an organization’s success should never feel stigmatized and fearful of coming to work each day.
