Basavaraju S, a 2007 batch IAS officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre, was on Wednesday posted as Special Secretary in the Home Department.
He has also been given the additional charge as Special Secretary, Forest Department.
Basavaraju was on inter-cadre deputation to the Karnataka cadre for three years on personal grounds from 2018.
Meanwhile, retired IAS officer Niranjan Das was appointed as Secretary in the Department of Electronics and IT on contract.
An officer of the 2003 batch, Das retired on January 31. Before retirement, he was the Managing Director of Excise and Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corp Ltd for four years.
