A video in which two youths are beating a minor girl mercilessly and forcing her to smoke a cigarette has gone viral on social media platforms.
While the girl is smoking out of fear, the other youth was shooting the incident.
Even the youths were found abusing the girl in filthy language. The incident took place in a forest near Chilika lake under Krusna Prasad police station in Puri district. As per written complaint of the girl, she is minor as well as physically-challenged.
Police have registered a case and arrested one Suresh Palei alia Mithus of Fulwari village under Titipa GP.
However, the second accused Amiya Pradhan alias Budhi of Panaspada is still at large. It is alleged that police have not yet arrested Amiya under pressure as he is son of an influential PT teacher of a nearby college.
Though the motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained, from the video it is known that one of the accused was in love with the girl. But she had an affair with another person. So, the duo thrashed her to take revenge.
