Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said that winds of peace and development are blowing in Bastar.
He was addressing a felicitation ceremony organized by tribal priests, Gauthan Committees and Panchayati Raj representatives in village Girola during his two-day trip to Bastar district.
He praised the police for working shoulder to shoulder with villagers, and said last year Bastar the least incidents of Naxalite violence.
Baghel said farmers, poor and forest produce collectors now have money. The state government is working in the fields of education, health and employment with a view to bring changes in the lives of the people.
He threw light on different government schemes through which the tribal community has benefited, especially procurement of minor forest produce and minor millets.
He pledged to construct post-matric hostels in Bakawand and Bastar, school buildings in Jaitgiri and Bajavand and beautify natural tourist places Betjharan and Durkabeda as well as a natural water body Tongkongera.
He performed Bhumi Pujan of 98 development works costing about Rs 131.61 crore in Girola.
