Youth nabbed for drugging his friend to steal valuables

The TT Nagar police have arrested a youth who drugged his friend and took a gold bracelet and Rs 10000, accused wanted to repay the loss incurred in betting.

Police said victim Rahul Chaturvedi and accused Shivam Singh Parihar are friends and live in the same building. They were acquainted with each other for the last 10 years and used to visit each other’s homes.

The accused brought liquor to give a birthday party on Friday. The accused mixed drugs in the friend's drink and due to which the victim lost his senses. Later the accused dropped him home but before that he took out Rs 10000 kept in his pocket. The condition of the victim worsened on reaching home. On this, the family admitted him to the hospital in an unconscious condition. From where the whole matter was revealed after being discharged.

Rahul Chaturvedi (37)  of Anpurna Complex, TT Nagar, does construction and telecom. Shivam Singh Parihar (26) lives in the same building. Both are friends for almost 10 years.

Earlier Shivam spotted Rahul's gold bracelet, he said that he also wanted to get it made like this and took a photo. After this he got the same kind of fake bracelet made.

On Friday at 5 pm, they reached one of their friend Vishal's office on the pretext of giving Rahul a birthday party and had liquor. Shivam mixed drugs in Rahul and Vishal's  liquor. After this both fainted and when Vishal's friends came, Shivam told them that they fainted after drinking alcohol. The friends took Vishal with them while Shivam left with Rahul in his car.

After taking Rahul around in an unconscious condition he took out Rs 10,000 kept in his pocket. Later when Rahul's health deteriorated after reaching home, his mother got him admitted to Hajela Hospital.

Rahul's mother took out his bracelet and ring in the hospital. After being discharged, he asked his mother for bracelets and rings. On wearing the bracelet, he felt something strange and he got it checked which turned out to be fake. On this, Rahul went to the police station and complained.

On receiving the complaint, when the police searched Shivam's house, they found a gold bangle and when the police questioned him he confessed to the crime.

At this time IPL matches were going on. In which accused Shivam used to invest money and lost a lot of money in betting. Pressure was being made on him to repay the money. To repay the money, the accused planned to exchange and sell the bracelet.
