1, 000 Jharkhand Secretariat officers on 3-day strike

About 1000 employees of Jharkhand Secretariat Service Union have gone on a 3-day mass leave. After talks with Secretary of Personnel Administrative Reforms and Official Language Department, Praveen Toppo, there has been no agreement on various demands of Jharkhand Secretariat Service Union, so the employees have gone on strike.

Secretariat Service Union President Dhruv Prasad and General Secretary Siddharth Besra said that it is the responsibility of every member of the union that this program is completely successful. “Together we will ensure that the voice of our rights reaches the Government. On Tuesday, work remained stalled in all the secretariat attached offices including Project Bhawan Secretariat, Nepal House, FFP Bhawan, MDI Building. Assistant Branch Officer, Branch Officer, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary to Joint Secretary level officers remained on mass leave. Due to this the work of the secretariat came to a standstill, the movement of files stopped,” he added.

The officers have also written a letter to CM Hemant Soren. In which the main demands are that creation of additional posts of Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary level of Jharkhand Secretariat Service, the proposal has been kept pending for more than one year and six months after the approval of the Chief Minister, promotion to higher posts under the Secretariat Service in the light of the resolution of the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language.

They also demanded that benefit of promotion with retrospective effect to the posts of Branch Officer in the light of the request submitted by the resolution of the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language and approval of non-functional pay scale to Branch Officers, promotion to the vacant posts of Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary and Branch Officer, child education allowance and early recruitment to the vacant posts of basic category of Secretariat Service.
