The MSME Development Office, Ranchi, in collaboration with BSL/SAIL, Bokaro, organized a two-day Vendor Development Program cum Industrial Exhibition on December 18-19, 2024, at the L&D Centre, Bokaro.

The event was inaugurated by B.K. Tiwari, Director Incharge BSL, alongside Indrajeet Yadav, Joint Director, MSME Development Office, and Manoj Kumar, Deputy Regional Director, JIADA.

C.R. Mishra, ED (MM), BSL, welcomed participants, emphasizing the initiative's importance for fostering collaboration between MSMEs and public sector enterprises.

DIC Tiwari highlighted BSL’s commitment to MSME procurement, noting that 35-40% of BSL’s purchases this year have been from MSMEs, exceeding the 25% mandated target. He urged MSMEs to focus on quality, competitive pricing, and after-sales service while utilizing platforms like GeM and TReDs for enhanced efficiency.

The event featured exhibits from 60 MSME units and participation from 10 public sector enterprises. Around 200 MSME entrepreneurs attended technical sessions, which included detailed presentations by BSL’s senior officials and GeM experts. These sessions provided insights into procurement policies, vendor registration processes, and support mechanisms available for MSMEs.

This collaborative effort aims to strengthen the integration of MSMEs into the public sector supply chain, boost their competitiveness, and contribute significantly to the nation’s industrial and economic growth. BSL officials reaffirmed their commitment to providing continued support to MSMEs and emphasized the need for mutual growth to drive national development.

Notably the exhibition facilitated direct interactions between MSMEs and public sector representatives, enabling entrepreneurs to better understand market demands and align their products accordingly.
