On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the CSR department of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL), in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), organized a special distribution camp on December 3 at the Ashalata Viklang Vikas Kendra, Bokaro. The event aimed to empower differently-abled individuals by providing them with battery-operated tricycles.
The camp was graced by BSL Director-in-Charge Birendra Kumar Tiwari, who served as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) Suresh Rangani, Executive Director-In-Charge (Human Resources) Rajan Prasad, Executive Director (HR) Rajshree Banerjee, Chief Medical Officer Dr. B.B. Karunamay, Chief General Manager (Town Administration) Kundan Kumar, Chief General Manager (Technical) Lakshmi Das, Director of Ashalata Viklang Vikas Kendra Shri B.S. Jaiswal, ALIMCO representative Nitish Kumar, General Manager (CSR) A.S. Nandi, Senior Manager (CSR) N. Tripathi, and several other officials from BSL and Ashalata Viklang Vikas Kendra.
In his address, Birendra Kumar Tiwari emphasized the collective responsibility of society to uplift differently-abled individuals, making their lives more accessible and connecting them to the mainstream. He also commended the efforts of the Ashalata Viklang Vikas Kendra in supporting the development and welfare of differently-abled persons.
During the event, battery-operated tricycles were distributed by the Director-in-Charge and other senior executives to the beneficiaries. The initiative was well-received and highlighted BSL’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and enhancing the quality of life for differently-abled individuals.
This CSR initiative aligns with BSL’s vision of creating a more inclusive and equitable society by empowering differently-abled individuals to lead independent and dignified lives.
