The Public Works Department (PWD) on Friday allotted Chief Minister Atishi the bungalow at 6, Flag Staff Road following the procedures even as the AAP and BJP attacked each other over the sealing of the residence.

An offer letter issued by the PWD said the bungalow in Civil Lines has been formally allotted to Atishi, after completing the due process of handover and preparation of inventory.

“The Director of Allotment, PWD, GNCTD is pleased to offer the under mentioned PWD General Pool Bungalow to Atishi, Chief Minister, GNCTD, as per the provisions of Delhi Administration Allotment of Govt. Residences (General Pool) Rules, 1977,” PWD said in the letter.

It added that since the said house is under investigation of CBI and other agencies for various violations, the allottee is advised to extend full cooperation in the investigation, as may be required.

The bungalow was at the centre of an intense tussle involving the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the LG office since former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated it earlier this month.

Earlier, officials Raj Niwas has stated that this bungalow was not earmarked as Chief Minister’s official residence. While the Vigilance Department has stated that the bungalow can not be allotted with a completion certificate.

Earlier, the AAP had shared a picture of ATishi working at her residence among boxes as the PWD sealed the house while the BJP had demanded the department to conduct a complete survey and investigation of the residence.

She has also been asked to vacate her bungalow at AB-17, Mathura road which was allotted to her as Delhi Minister within 15 days of taking possession of the new one from where her predecessor ran the government.

“Where the allottee is already in occupation of any government house/bungalow earlier allotted, the allottee will have to vacate the house/bungalow within 15 days after taking possession of the new house/bungalow allotted in lieu of the previous one,” it said.

The PWD stated that if allottee makes any unauthorized construction in the Bungalow at any time, the allotment is liable to be cancelled in addition to payment of applicable damages etc. as per the relevant provisions of Delhi Administration Allotment of Govt. Residences (General Pool) Rules, 1977.

“After submitting acceptance, the allottee will be given an Authority Slip from PWD Secretariat, 3rd Floor, MSO Building, I.P. Estate, New Delhi in order to take possession of the allotted house/bungalow within the date mentioned in the authority slip. In case of failure to take the possession of the allotted Bungalow within the time specified, the allotment will be treated as cancelled,” it added.
