On the instructions of Chief Secretary, a meeting was held in the hall of New Collectorate under the chairmanship of Collector Sandeep Makin regarding security arrangements in hospitals in the district.

In the meeting, Makin discussed issues like women safety in hospitals, medical arrangements, transportation, parking, cleanliness etc. He said that a Whatsapp group should be created at the district level in which administrative officers, police officers and medical officers and their team should be added, so that if any problem or trouble arised in the hospitals, it will be brought to notice immediately through this group. This way, it can be resolved immediately.

A QRT team will be formed which will reach within 10 minutes on receiving information about any incident. Makin said that a mock drill of this team will be done in the coming 2-3 days. Taking seriously the increasing security related incidents related to women, Shri Makin instructed the Dean of Medical College, CMHO that a CCTV control room will be established in the district hospital, in which duty will be assigned for five to six hours, if needed, the number of cameras in the hospital should be increased, so that the movement of anti-social elements and unknown persons can be stopped and any incident arising or happening can be monitored.

After the camera installation and the creation of CCTV control room, it will also be audited by the administrative staff within 7 days. Regarding security related arrangements, the government hospitals will be inspected by the Collector, CEO, ADM and private hospitals will be inspected by SDM and Deputy Collectors.
