e-mandi lottery system to enhance farm trade

Wednesday, 18 September 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched an initiative to enhance agricultural trade in the state through the development of a web-based ‘e-mandi lottery system’.

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Mandi Parishad is moving towards a digital transformation with the creation of an advanced web portal and mobile app.

The Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Limited (UPDESCO) has been tasked with overseeing the design and implementation of this digital platform, which aims to streamline mandi operations.

The new platform will feature 6R programming data, including a lottery system, coupon generation, and improved user interaction, making the system more efficient and transparent for farmers and traders alike.

The project will be executed through a process of agency selection, with priority given to companies already empanelled with UPDESCO.

Following the selection and allocation of work, a 30-day deadline has been set for the completion of development.

With this, the government is set to transform farm management practices in Uttar Pradesh by developing a user-friendly platform designed to seamlessly integrate 6R data into the agricultural process.

The project aims to enhance grower participation and promote overall prosperity within the agricultural ecosystem by providing secure grower portals and a dynamic mandi/zone lottery system.

The comprehensive software solution will address inefficiencies in credit allocation, optimise grower interactions, and contribute to the agricultural sector’s efficiency.

Equipped with various advanced features, the platform will offer seamless integration, secure grower portals, a dynamic lottery system, credit optimisation, scalability, user-friendly design, and a notification system to keep users informed about lottery processes.

The app and portal developed under this project will include multiple login options, such as for the Mandi Parishad, DDA offices, and the head office, in addition to grower access.

The system will allow for real-time monitoring and management of mandi operations at various levels. Feedback collected through the platform will help rank mandi performance, ensuring transparency and accountability across the board.
