Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, while interacting with villagers at Bichpura in Sahebganj district today, said that recently he has taken up a new responsibility in this state. For the development of the state, it is necessary to understand different areas and communicate with the people there. Through this dialogue, it is known how the schemes of the Central and State Government are being implemented. Along with this, through dialogue, one also gets an opportunity to know the problems and suggestions of the people.
The Governor said that it has been a long time since the country got independence and it is still important to see whether everyone is getting adequate facilities from the government. Referring to the major schemes of the government, he said that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, many families have been given free gas connections. Expressing concern over diseases caused by contaminated water, he said that the problem of pure drinking water is more serious in rural areas and the government is making continuous efforts under the Jal Jeevan Mission to solve this.
The Governor informed that the government has adequate resources available for housing schemes and housing construction work is also going on at a fast pace. Health facilities up to Rs 5 lakh are being provided under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, and the number of people benefiting from this scheme is continuously increasing. Apart from this, he also inquired about the status of receiving benefits under Divyang and Old Age Pension Schemes.
A member of the self-help group told the Governor that about 300 women are associated with their group, who are engaged in various other works along with farming. The women of these groups are earning an income of about Rs 10,000 per month from works like grocery shop, makeup material, making plates and papad, multigrain flour, pickle making, and sewing. The Governor appreciated the efforts of these women towards self-reliance and said that they are an inspiration for the society by taking care of their families. Another member of the group informed that people are also getting the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and assistance is also being received from the bank under first and second linkage. Another person informed about the success of the mushroom scheme being run for the Pahadia tribes and said that people are likely to get more benefits through retail outlets.
The Governor also distributed assets among various beneficiaries. He said that all necessary efforts will be made for the development of the people.
Meanwhile, the Governor paid tribute to the immortal heroes of the Hul Revolution by visiting the Kranti Sthal built in the memory of Veer Shaheed Sido Kanhu at Panchkathiya in Barhet of Sahebganj district. On this occasion, remembering their unique contribution in the freedom struggle, he said that the valour and courage of Sido-Kanhu is a golden chapter in the history of our country, which will continue to inspire generations to come.
