Intense cold conditions prevail in the State, Bhopal records 9.2 degrees

Intense cold conditions have prevailed across the state. A homeless man sleeping in the veranda of a shopping complex in Betul is suspected to have died due to cold on Tuesday night.

Last night, a temperature of 10.7 degrees was recorded in Betul.

The CCTV camera installed in the shopping complex has captured the picture of the young man, in which he is seen shivering.

The deceased has been identified as Babu Dhurve Chhatrapal (55) of Chunni Dhana.

Police said that he used to work as a porter when it felt very cold at night, he tried to save himself by covering himself with plastic, but did not wake up in the morning.

Cities of Madhya Pradesh are shivering due to snowfall on the mountains. Bhopal and Jabalpur cities are colder than Jammu-Katra and Dehradun.

According to the Meteorological Department, the night temperature in Bhopal and Jabalpur will remain 10 degrees for the next 3 to 4 days.

This November, the cold has also broken the record of many years and it is the coldest in Bhopal in 25 years. Temperatures are below normal in all cities including Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain.

Meteorologists said that the effect of cold will remain even in the last days of November. There is no possibility of rain in Gwalior-Chambal due to the end of the effect of Western Disturbance.

According to the Meteorological Department, on Monday-Tuesday night, the temperature was 10.6 degrees in Jammu City of Jammu and Kashmir, 10.2 degrees in Katra, 7.4 degrees in Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, 6.9 degrees in Chamba and 10.2 degrees in Dehradun of Uttarakhand, 7.8 degrees in Mussoorie. In this way, Bhopal, Jabalpur cities remained colder than Jammu, Katra-Dehradun. Pachmarhi was also recorded colder than other cities.

Cold winds increased the chill even during the day

Snowfall is occurring in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Due to this, the speed of the jet stream i.e. cold winds is high. It is blowing at a speed of 260 km per hour at an altitude of 12.6 km above West-North India. Due to this, there is an effect of cold winds in the state. Due to this, the chill has increased even during the day.

On Tuesday, a drop in day temperature was also recorded. A drop in maximum temperature was seen in many cities including Bhopal, Indore, Pachmarhi, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, Guna, Satna, Jabalpur. The mercury in Pachmarhi was 23.4 degrees, the temperature in Malajkhand of Balaghat was 24.2 degrees. Bhopal-Indore recorded 27.5 degrees, Gwalior 28.4 degrees, Ujjain 28.8 degrees and Jabalpur 27.8 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, on Monday-Tuesday night, the lowest mercury was recorded at 5.6 degrees in Pachmarhi, 7.3 degrees in Kalyanpur of Shahdol. At the same time, the mercury remained below 10 degrees in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Mandla, Umaria, Naugaon and Rajgarh. At the same time, the temperature remained below 12 degrees in Malajkhand, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Betul, Khandwa, Khargone, Tikamgarh, Raisen, Guna and Satna.
