Union Water Minister CR Paatil presented the award to Masulpani’s Sarpanch Ramiya Netam. The village is located five kilometres away from Kanker town.

The gram panchayat built 161 watershed structures, two wells, two underground dams, three gabion check dams and other structures in 2023.

The purpose of the National Water Awards is to raise public awareness about the importance of water conservation and to inspire people to adopt efficient water use practices.
