Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Monday lashed out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his resignation, stating that the ‘proposal is not out of ethics but compulsion’ and demanded that the election should be conducted in October while South Delhi BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri blamed him of playing an unsuccessful sympathy card.
Bidhuri accused Kejriwal of trying to create a state of confusion among the people and said, “He is saying that till the verdict of the people comes he will not sit on Chair. He had to resign due to the conditions imposed by the Supreme Court. The court will give a verdict on the allegations of corruption on him, not the people. Therefore, he is trying to play an unsuccessful sympathy card.”
He added that till the verdict of Supreme Court comes in the liquor police linked money laundering scam, these conditions will remain applicable. “It is natural that in such a condition he is trying to fool the public. Kejriwal is trying to straighten up his political agenda by doing drama over the resignation and misleading the public,” the BJP leader said, adding that he should forget that people will show any sympathy towards him because they are watching Delhi being destroyed.
AAP supremo on Sunday announced to resign and not sit on the CM's chair till the people give him a "certificate of honesty" and sought early polls in the national capital in November. Attacking Kejriwal, Sachdeva said, “Arvind Kejriwal's resignation is not a matter of following ethics but a compulsion. He has been talking about going among the people since yesterday, but I challenge him to go before the women of Delhi after having pushed millions of families into alcohol addiction.”
Sachdeva lashed out at the AAP government over rain related deaths and said, “In the past 77 years since Independence, Delhi has become the first state where 43 deaths have occurred due to waterlogging, as a result of the Chief Minister's corruption.” “Every MLA of his party has been missing from their constituencies for the last five years, indulging only in corruption. On what basis will they go to the people? Time will tell,” the Delhi BJP chief alleged, adding that they should hold elections in October.
“The people of Delhi now want to be free from the Kejriwal government, so Kejriwal, who is talking about elections in November, should hold them in October, as every worker of the BJP is always ready for elections. He deceived the people of Delhi in 2013-14, but now his cunning will no longer work, and he should stop fooling Delhi,” the BJP leader stated
