Man held for bank fraud of Rs 39 lakhs

Chhattisgarh Police on Thursday arrested a 44-year-old man after a relative for whom he stood as a guarantor failed to pay back a loan of Rs 39.90 lakh taken from a bank in 2019.

Deepak Tiwari of Raipur has been taken into custody, Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police Lakhan Pawar Patle said. Efforts are on to nab his relative Rishi Tiwari.

Rishi Tiwari had taken a loan from a nationalized bank to buy a concrete power machine trailer and he failed to pay back the loan. Deepak Tiwari was the guarantor.
