Soil testing is being done at the places where the pillars of the metro line will be erected in the 8.77 Km stretch between Subhash Nagar and Karond in Bhopal. Tests have been done at Bogda Pul Chauraha, Karond. At the same time, work is also being done on the drawing, Minister Vishwas Sarang inspected the work of this second phase of the metro on Wednesday.
He said that there will be three-tier transportation at Karond intersection.
Minister Sarang also visited many areas and saw the work. He took information about the metro project from Metro MD CB Chakraborty. At the same time, he understood the entire plan. After this, he also visited many places with the officers.
Minister Sarang said that 6 lanes will also be built from the airport to Ratnagiri intersection. The work of its widening is in progress.
The entire project will be completed in about four years. After this, the development path of progress of Bhopal including Narela Vidhan Sabha constituency area will open. There will be new dimensions of employment and the areas of the city will be able to connect with each other in a better way.
During the inspection of Minister Sarang, officials of Metro, NHAI, PWD, Municipal Corporation, Traffic and District Administration were also present.
This is the second phase of the Orange Line from Subhash Nagar Metro Station which is from Subhash Nagar Metro Station to in front of ICAR (Indian Institute of Soil Science) in Karond. Work will be done in two ways in the route of this phase. Out of 8.77 km, 3.39 km long route will be underground, while 5.38 km part will be above the ground. Tenders have been done for both.
Soil testing is being done up to 15 meters of the ground for the pillar. At the same time, pile load testing will also be done in the coming days. In this, tests will be done by placing up to two and a half times the load at the place of the pillar.
The Orange Line of Metro in Bhopal i.e. the route from AIIMS to Karond is a total of 14.99 km long. It has a priority corridor of 6.22 Km between Subhash Nagar to AIIMS. Trial runs were conducted between 5 out of 8 stations in October 2023. More than 90% of the work of Rani Kamlapati, Subhash Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, DB Ke Samne and MP Nagar stations has been completed. 50% of the work of the remaining three stations - DRM Chauraha, AIIMS and Alkapuri stations has also been completed. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the second phase.
The Project-1 has 6 stations and will be built for Rs 650 crore. Work will be done in a total of 2 phases on the route from Subhash Nagar Depot to Karond. Out of a total of 8.77 Km, 6 elevated metro stations will be built in 5.38 Km area. Rs 650 crore will be spent on this. URC Construction will do this work. This company is also doing the work of Subhash Nagar, DB Mall, MP Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, RKMP, Alkapuri, DRM Office and AIIMS stations. Soil testing is the responsibility of this company.
The target will be to complete the work in 3 and a half years. Stations and tracks will be laid in this period. Metro stations will be built at these 6 places Pul Bogda, Aishbagh, Sindhi Colony, DIG Bungalow, Krishi Upaj Mandi Karond.
The Project-2 is underground route and will be built for Rs 890 crore. In the 8.77 Km route, 3.39 km route will be underground. It will also have 2 metro stations Bhopal Railway Station and Nadra Bus Stand. This work will be done by a different company. A big machine will come for this, which will make a big tunnel inside the ground.
After the work starts, the target will be to complete it in 3 and a half years. This will be the only underground part of both the metro lines.
