To improve legal accessibility, the District Legal Services Authority of Garhwa conducted a monthly Lok Adalat on Saturday, adhering to directives from the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority. The event was presided over by Principal District Judge Nalin Kumar.
In order to facilitate the efficient running of the Lok Adalat, six benches were set up, which included the municipal sub-divisional court. These benches consisted of various judicial officers: Shivnath Tripathi (District and Additional Sessions Judge-III), Sangeeta (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate), Anulika Kumar (Judicial Magistrate), Monika Prasad (Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate of Nagar Untari), and Sanjay Kumar Singh (Second District and Additional Sessions Judge-I).
In addition, one advocate was appointed for each bench to provide assistance, including advocates Nityanand Dubey, Anita Ranjan, Uttam Kumar Bharti, Birendra Kumar Mishra, and Rajesh Kumar Chaubey.
During the Lok Adalat, a total of 103 cases were settled, comprising 27 criminal compoundable cases and 75 relating to the electricity department, resulting in a revenue of Rs 9,06,500.00.
The proceedings were attended by judicial officers, advocates, court staff, and litigants, including P.L.M. Surya Dev Chaudhary.
