With the aim to prevent the water-logging incidents in ongoing monsoon season in New Delhi area, New Delhi Municipal Council ( NDMC ) has launched an intensive drive for three days starting Saturday to check and clean all the bell mouth alongside of roads in its jurisdiction, officials said.
NDMC have 8,704 bell mouths alongside of all the main roads under the 06 Divisions of Road Engineering Service. In this special drive all divisions are gears for checking and cleaning of every bell mouth under their jurisdiction. The drive is being carrying out by a special team including 17 Assistant Engineers and 28 Junior Engineers,1,500 field staff and other workers force under 06 Executive Engineers.
Each Executive Engineer directed to achieve the program target and assigned specific numbers of bell mouth to ensure the checking and cleaning under the set target.
The superintending Engineers are directed and assigned to conduct surprise visit to check the progress in time bound manner. The daily progress report and percentage target achieve shall be compiled by each circle and superintending Engineers shall forward for compilation to monitoring at higher level.
