NHDC Ltd., the leading hydropower generation company of the Madhya Pradesh state celebrated its Silver Jubilee Foundation Day with grand pomp & show on Thursday.

The musical & cultural function was organized in Hansdhwani Auditorium of Ravindra Bhawan, Bhopal in which the various mesmerizing performances happened by cultural artists.

In the cultural function, the captivating musical presentation of famous playback singer Palak Muchhal - Palash Muchhal won the hearts of all the audience present in the event. The function was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest of the program, Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC and Chairman of NHDC, Rajendra Prasad Goyal, members of the Board of Directors of NHDC and other dignitaries of government. While addressing to audience, the chief guest Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal said that NHDC has contributed significantly in making the Madhya Pradesh state self-reliant in the field of power production since its inception.

Goyal informed that this year the corporation has started successful operation of two solar projects, Ground Mounted Sanchi Solar Project (8 MW) and Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project (88 MW), which will increase the self-reliance of the state in the field of power generation. The corporation is striving to make the state self-reliant through renewable energy generation options.

Goyal appreciated the role of NHDC in making Madhya Pradesh prosperous and for the works done under corporate social responsibility. Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that along with fulfilling the power requirement, NHDC is playing an important role in the development of the state through activities like promoting irrigation, fisheries, food grain production, and tourism in the state, besides energy conservation awareness.

He expressed gratitude to the Madhya Pradesh Government for providing support for the future projects of the corporation. He ccongratulated all NHDC employees on 25th Foundation Day, he wished the corporation to keep moving ahead towards success. On this occasion, Rajiv Jain, Managing Director NHDC apprised everyone of the various achievements of the corporation and the work done by the corporation and the future challenges and informed about the glorious achievements of NHDC in the past years and congratulated all the officers and employees of the corporation. Many eminent guests of the Madhya Pradesh Government, along with NHDC officers and employees and their families were present in the cultural evening. NHDC Limited is a joint venture of NHPC Limited and Madhya Pradesh Government, which was established in the year 2000.
