The National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (Divyangjan), Kolkata, in partnership with Samarthanam Trust, organized a mega job fair for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) on September 19, 2024. The event focused on providing employment opportunities to empower Divyangjan.
Chief Guest Nilanjana Dasgupta, IAS, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, West Bengal, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of integrating PwDs into the workforce and highlighting a job fair on December 3, International Day of PwDs.
Dr. Lalit Narayan, Director of NILD, stressed the significance of such initiatives in promoting independence and dignity for Divyangjan, acknowledging the continued support from the State Social Welfare Department.
Around 460 Divyangjan candidates participated, with 50 securing jobs across 15 companies.
