The third convocation ceremony of North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital was organized at Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium, at Civic Centre. The convocation was held for the 2016 and 2017 batches of Hindu Rao Medical College. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena was the chief guest of the event.
Addressing the doctors, LG Saxena emphasized upon the need for continuous upgradation of medical services, adopting new technology, latest research, and innovation to meet the evolving needs of society. Saxena said that they will be at the forefront of managing, treating, healing, and alleviating human suffering. He encouraged them to cultivate and enhance compassion, while continuously upgrading their knowledge and medical skills as well. He highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and services, citing initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, Jan Aushadhi, and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as the examples of programs aimed for providing quality healthcare to marginalized communities. He also called upon the private healthcare sector in Delhi to contribute by thinking beyond mere profits and focusing on providing high-quality health services to the people.
Mayor Oberoi also congratulated the graduating doctors, noting that receiving their degrees is a significant milestone but it is just the beginning of their professional journey. MCD Commissioner Ashwini Kumar also congratulated the graduating doctors and the faculty of Hindu Rao Medical College, acknowledging their role in shaping the future of the students.
