PLFI supremo Dinesh Gope is reported to have been shifted from Ranchi to Palamu jail. Dinesh Gope has been shifted to jail on Monday morning amid tight security.
Even while being lodged in Ranchi jail, he is said to have been demanding levy from businessmen, after which the jail administration decided to shift him to another jail. Gope was arrested by the NIA from Delhi on May 21, 2023. He was brought to Ranchi by plane on transit remand.
More than 102 criminal cases related to murder, kidnapping, threat, extortion and raising funds for PLFI are registered against Gope in Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha.
A reward of Rs 25 lakh was announced on Dinesh Gope by Jharkhand Police and five lakh by NIA, a total of Rs 30 lakh. The NIA produced Dinesh Gope in court on 22 May 2023 and sought 14 days remand. The court handed over Dinesh Gope to the NIA on eight days remand. During interrogation, the NIA recovered several weapons and bullets based on the information given by Dinesh Gope.
