Smart City CEO skips review meeting chaired by in-charge minister

Minister in-charge of Bhopal district Chaitanya Kashyap chaired a review meeting at the Bhopal Collectorate on Friday. Several public representatives and officials participated in the meeting.

Kashyap and several others expressed dissatisfaction over the condition of roads in the district. The minister in charge was especially miffed by the absence of the CEO of the Smart City project, stating that the top official's absence was unacceptable.Expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of the Smart City project, several public representatives urged the collector to make appropriate decisions regarding the CEO.

Bhopal parliamentarian Alok Sharma, Mayor Malti Rai, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, District Panchayat President Ramkunwar Gurjar, Vishnu Khatri, Bhagwandas Sabnani, BJP District President Sumit Pachauri, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, and Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi attended the meeting.The dismal condition of rural and urban roads in the district was repeatedly discussed at the meeting. Some attendees also underscored the need for more cattle shelters and the immediate need to overcome water shortages in the villages.

Kashyap stated that a regular review would be held with the municipal corporation to discuss development projects and the progress of the city metro.

Addressing the issue of crime against women, the minister emphasized the need for strict action in a recent case of rape involving a three-year-old girl at a private school in the state capital.

The meeting also reviewed various projects, including the revenue campaign, tree plantation, Jal Jeevan Mission, seasonal diseases, CM Rise Schools, Amrit 2.0, construction works, and current affairs, with relevant departments providing presentations to share information.It is noteworthy that the minister had previously postponed four meetings scheduled for August 30, September 3, September 6, and September 13.
