As part of the National Nutrition Month, authorities in Chhattisgarh will hold a drive from September 12 to 23 to conduct checkups of children under the age of 6 at Anganwadis across the state.
They will record the children's weights and heights in the Nutrition Tracker App to ascertain the status of malnutrition in the state.
This year’s Nutrition Month activities themed around anaemia, growth monitoring, supplementary nutrition, nutrition education, hygiene, better administration, transparency and efficient service delivery.
Priority is being given to pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls and malnourished children.
Pregnant women and children are encouraged to get food at least twice a day at Anganwadi centres. They are provided nutrition kits, food, supplements, and more to help them recover under various schemes and initiatives.
