In a significant move to enhance the quality of education in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government is constructing Chief Minister Model Composite Schools in 57 districts (except 18 districts with divisional headquarters).
These state-of-the-art institutions will cater to students from pre-primary to class 12 and are set to be completed within the next three years.
The government’s ambitious plan aims to build one school at each nyaya panchayat level, providing education to 3,000 students simultaneously. Each school will be spread over a minimum of 25 acres, ensuring ample space for comprehensive learning facilities. The Education department has been instructed to prioritise the quality of construction and infrastructure, reinforcing the government’s commitment to creating a robust education system.
As per the action plan, classes up to 12th will be conducted in Chief Minister Model Composite Schools along with pre-primary (Bal Vatika). These schools will be developed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with a strong emphasis on the holistic development of students.
The schools will follow the UP Board curriculum, offering diverse streams such as science, mathematics, commerce and arts. To ensure quality education, excellent teachers will be selected from the existing pool of educators based on their credentials. Each school will feature separate academic blocks for pre-primary, primary, upper primary, secondary and senior secondary levels.
In addition to a robust academic structure, the schools will be equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including modern science and math labs, smart classrooms, computer labs, skill development hubs and a centralised kitchen. A special focus will be placed on earthquake-resistant construction, green energy and energy-efficient architecture.
The infrastructure will be world-class, offering modular laboratories for chemistry and physics for classes 9 to 12, composite science and math labs for classes 1 to 8, and separate libraries for junior and senior students. Students will also benefit from open gym areas, multiple activity halls and playgrounds. To support sustainability, the schools will have solar panels, rainwater harvesting units and RO-UV water plants.
Additionally, facilities like midday meal kitchens, dining halls, hand washing units and designated staff rooms for teachers are also part of the plan, making these schools a model of modern education and infrastructure.
