Vibrant pandals and devotion set for Ganesh Puja festivities

 The city is brimming with festive excitement as the much-awaited Ganesh Puja Mahotsav is set to begin on Saturday with traditional rituals and grand celebrations. Devotees across Jamshedpur are preparing to welcome Lord Ganesha with devotion and joy on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Prominent locations, including Sakchi, Kadma, Bistupur, CH Area, and Jugsalai, are decked with vibrant puja pandals, ready to host the festival.

This year marks the 106th celebration of the Kadma Shri Shri Ganesh Puja Mahotsav, which will take place from September 7 (Saturday) to September 22 (Sunday). The festivities will officially begin this evening, with an inaugural ceremony scheduled at 7:00 PM. The grand pandal will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Raghubar Das, Governor of Odisha, alongside Special Guest Sekhar Dey, Director of Sreeleathers and a renowned social worker. Several prominent figures, including Sudhanshu Ojha, BJP District President; R Ravi Prasad, Former Tata Workers’ Union President; and Y Ishwar Rao, social worker, are expected to attend the ceremony.

On Saturday, September 7, the Kalash Sthapana and Prana Pratishtha rituals will take place at 9:30 AM, officiated by Chief Guest Arjun Munda, former Union Minister, and Akhand Jyoti Saryu Roy, MLA of East Jamshedpur. The ceremony will be followed by garlandings from distinguished guests, including Rajiv Ranjan Singh, former DIG; and Amarpreet Singh Kale, senior BJP leader, among others.

The fair promises to offer a wide array of attractions, including electric swings, break dances, toy trains, and a special "Ranger" and "Tsunami" swing for thrill-seekers. Traditional stalls featuring Bengal Fine Arts, Kanpur utensils, and artificial jewelry will also be available.

As the city gears up for this two-week celebration, excitement is palpable, with thousands of devotees expected to participate in the rituals and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Streets are adorned with colorful lights, and vibrant puja pandals are being set up across the city. The sound of drums, chanting of prayers, and the aroma of freshly made sweets create an atmosphere of joy and anticipation. Devotees, young and old, are eagerly looking forward to the rituals and festivities, ready to offer their prayers for prosperity, peace, and happiness in the days ahead.
