In the course of preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, a one day workshop was organized at Krishna Lok Prashasan Sansthan for the first level inspection of EVM and VVPAT for the District Election Officers, Deputy Election Officers and FLC Supervisors of all the districts under the chairmanship of Chief Election Officer K. Ravi Kumar.
Addressing the workshop, Kumar said that its main objective is to make the officials aware of all the protocols related to EVM and VVPAT, so that no situation of doubt arises during the assembly elections. He said that during the maintenance of EVM and VVPAT, the security of the strong room and establishing communication with political parties are important tasks. Said that the Election Commission of India has set some standards for the security of the strong room and it is mandatory to ensure their compliance.
In the workshop, technical and administrative security of EVM and VVPAT, process of first level inspection and doubt clearing sessions were organized for the officials. In these sessions, experts gave point-wise training through PPT.
In the workshop, along with the Chief Election Officer, Secretary of Election Commission of India BC Patra, Under Secretary Rakesh Kumar, EVM Nodal Officer Geeta Chaubey, NMLT Mahendra Kumar and Mrityunjay Kumar gave training to the officials on related subjects.
After the workshop, Chief Election Officer K. Ravi Kumar reviewed the updated status of the special summary revision program of the second voter list going on in the state with the District Election Officers of all the districts.
On this occasion, apart from the concerned officials of all districts, all the officials related to the election including Additional Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Singh, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Neha Arora, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Dev Das Dutta, Deputy Electoral Officer Headquarters Sanjay Kumar were present from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
