The VHAH Festival 2025, scheduled to take place from February 14th to 16th against the stunning backdrop of Ramgarh Shekhawati, promises to be an immersive celebration of Rajasthan’s rich cultural tapestry. Envisioned by Shruti Nada Poddar, a passionate champion of heritage preservation, this festival seeks to rekindle the grandeur of Ramgarh Shekhawati and restore its place in the global cultural landscape.
Ramgarh Shekhawati, often referred to as the “Open-Air Art Gallery of Rajasthan,” is a treasure trove of architectural marvels, adorned with ornate havelis, intricate frescos and majestic chhatris. Through the VHAH Festival, efforts are underway to breathe new life into this magnificent locale, inviting visitors to rediscover its timeless charm.
The festival opens with an enchanting evening on the sand dunes of Shekhawati, where the mesmerising Kalbeliya dancers, recognised as UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage and traditional Shekhawati folk musicians set the stage for an unforgettable experience. This year’s edition also pays homage to the legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt on his centenary, with curated sessions by Nasreen Munni Kabir and Shruti Nada Poddar. Screenings, discussions and a magical Moonlight Dinner Mehfil accompanied by Guru Dutt’s iconic music promise to transport attendees into the golden age of Indian cinema.
Music and dance form the soul of VHAH 2025, featuring luminaries like Vidushi Sunanda Sharma of the Banaras Gharana, Irish musician Jason Donnelly and renowned classical dancers Vidushi Sujata Mohapatra and Padmashri Geeta Chandran, who will bring alive the timeless verses of the Geet Govinda.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the town’s architectural wonders through guided heritage walks and camel cart rides. From havelis to stepwells, these tours reveal the intricate beauty of Ramgarh’s historical landscape. At the Archway Art Gallery in Mohar Haveli, rare oleographs by Raja Ravi Varma and M.V. Dhurandhar will offer a glimpse into India’s artistic legacy. Meanwhile, workshops on traditional crafts, including applique, weaving and heritage restoration, will invite participants to connect with ancient techniques.
Wellness and spirituality are integral to the festival’s ethos. Ayurvedic recipe sessions, wellness workshops, and the resonant power of Vedic chants and yagyas provide opportunities for deep healing and rejuvenation. Evenings at the festival transform into intimate gatherings filled with music, dance, and the celebration of Shringar Rasa—the essence of beauty, love, and adornment.
Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity!
