Gurugram emerging as preferred destination for GCCs: Rao Narbir Singh

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh on Thursday said that Gurugram, the state’s economic capital, is steadily emerging as the preferred destination for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), backed by improved connectivity and a progressive business environment.

The minister was addressing a stakeholder consultation meeting on the provisions of the upcoming GCC Policy 2025 held in Gurugram.

Singh underlined that the state government is committed to creating a supportive ecosystem for industries instead of a restrictive one. “Industries are the main pillars of Haryana’s growth, and the government is consistently striving to ensure investors and entrepreneurs receive all necessary facilities and timely support,” he said.

Highlighting Gurugram’s rapid transformation, the minister said the city’s proximity to Delhi and its expanding infrastructure have made it a natural investment choice. “Projects such as a large park on the lines of London’s Hyde Park, two convention centres similar to the India Habitat Centre, and major connectivity projects like the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway are strengthening Gurugram’s position as an attractive investment hub,” he said.

He added that the upcoming world’s largest Jungle Safari in Gurugram will further enhance the city’s appeal and investment potential.

Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal, said Haryana has prepared a new policy to promote GCCs with a balanced mix of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives. “Dedicated relationship managers and special teams will be deployed to assist investors at every stage,” he said.

Dr. Agrawal further noted that apart from Gurugram, Tier-2 cities such as Panchkula, Karnal, and Hisar also offer modern infrastructure, high quality of life, and strong connectivity, making them viable options for GCC expansion.

Director General, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Yash Garg, said the draft GCC Policy will incorporate stakeholder suggestions to ensure a convenient and investor-friendly environment. “The objective is to strengthen Haryana, particularly Gurugram, as a hub for GCCs,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Chief Coordinator Industries Sunil Sharma, Chief Technology Officer Nitin Bansal, and representatives from various industrial associations across the state.
