A senior producer at a private news channel was allegedly chased, harassed and attacked by two men in Sector-129, Noida while she was driving home from her office on early Friday morning. The accused, identified as Deepak and Shubham, both residents of Dabri, Delhi, have been arrested. Police said the duo, who work as bartenders, were intoxicated at the time of the incident.
“Around 12:45 am, when she overtook a scooter on the Mahamaya flyover, its riders allegedly started following her and tried to confront her. Showing presence of mind, the woman did not stop and instead, drove towards a safer area,” police said.
When she reached near the Lajpat Nagar flyover, she called the Police Control Room (PCR) and reported that the men were following her and had also damaged her vehicle.
A team from the Lajpat Nagar police station rushed to the spot and ensured her safety. Since the incident had occurred under the Sun Light Colony police station limits, a case was registered there. Multiple teams were formed to identify and nab the accused.
