In the case of sexual assault of a four-year-old girl in Misrod area court has sentenced the accused to 20 years of imprisonment. This decision was delivered by Kumudini Patel, Special Judge POCSO Act on Monday.
The accused Lokesh Dhurve was acquainted and husband of a friend of the victim's mother.
According to the information, on June 1, 2022, at 5:30 pm, the girl's mother had gone to her clinic. Meanwhile, she had left the girl at her friend's house. This friend also taught tuition to the girl. So the girl used to stay with her. On the evening of the incident, after returning, the woman took the girl and went home.
These days it was very hot, so she wanted to bathe the girl. Meanwhile, the girl complained of pain in the private part. During interrogation, the girl told the mother that Lokesh's uncle had touched her private part in bed. Due to this she is having pain. After which the victim's mother reached the police station with her daughter and lodged a complaint.
Misrod police arrested the accused and sent him to jail. The case has been pending since then. On Monday, the court convicted the accused under Section 377, 376 IPC and Section 5 M/6 POCSO Act and sentenced him.
The accused Lokesh Dhurve has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1000 under Section 376(a)(b) IPC 5M/6 POCSO Act and 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1000 under Section 377 IPC. Special Public Prosecutor Divya Shukla pleaded on behalf of the government in this case.
