On Friday night, three people were wounded by gunshots during celebratory firing at a Tilak ceremony in Rezo village, within the Meral Police Station's jurisdiction. All those injured received initial treatment at a private hospital in Garhwa. Individuals with more serious injuries were then admitted to a private medical facility in Medininagar for further treatment.
The injured have been identified as Chotu Dubey, son of Vasudev Dubey, a resident of Kanchanpur, in the Ranka Police Station area; Mukesh Tiwari, son of Jwala Tiwari, from Tetradih village, also within the Ranka Police Station boundaries; and Manoj Gupta, son of Bhola Sah, residing on Ranka Hospital Road. All three were attending the Tilak ceremony as guests of the bride's family.
Sources indicate that the wedding celebrations were for Prashant Choubey, son of Ramashankar Choubey of Rezo village, and the daughter of Shambhu Pandey from Ranka Hospital Road, Ranka Police Station area. The Tilak ceremony took place in Rezo village on Friday night. Allegedly, some guests from the bride's side were firing celebratory gunshots when the incident occurred, injuring the three individuals. The event caused significant disturbance. The injured were quickly taken to a private hospital in Garhwa, where they received initial medical care. Those with severe injuries were then moved to a private hospital in Medininagar.
Vishnu Kant, the Station In-charge at Meral Police Station, has confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Roshan Pathak following a complaint made by Mukesh Tiwari. Police investigations are currently in progress.
