The 7th Convocation Ceremony of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University was held on February 28, 2025, in the university premises under the esteemed chairmanship of Chancellor and Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel. The event was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Minister of Animal Husbandry, Lakhan Patel, as the chief guest. The ceremony commenced with floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh and a tree plantation in the university premises by the Chancellor. Following this, the convocation procession reached the stage, led by the Chancellor, the Animal Husbandry Minister, the Vice-Chancellor, former Vice-Chancellors, and members of the Management and Executive Council. The event formally began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before Goddess Saraswati by the dignitaries. Dr. S.S. Tomar, Registrar of the university, announced the formal commencement of the ceremony with the Chancellor’s approval.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Mandeep Sharma presented the university's progress report, highlighting achievements in education, research, and extension programs. A souvenir of the convocation ceremony was also released. The Chancellor conferred degrees and gold medals to meritorious students.
In this convocation, a total of 1,029 students from academic sessions 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 were awarded degrees, including 678 students in B.V.Sc & A.H., 229 students in M.V.Sc., 34 in Ph.D., 76 in B.F.Sc., and 12 in M.F.Sc. A total of 12 gold medals were awarded to outstanding students in different programs, including Dr. Neha Sharma, Neelam Soni, Nivedita Dwivedi for B.V.Sc & A.H.; Anika Namdev, Nishi Pathak, and Mansi Harinkhede for B.F.Sc.; Mareddy Vinita Reddy, Dr. Afreen Khan, and Dr. Annapureddy Pravalika for M.V.Sc.; and Dr. Ravi Sikarodiya, Dr. Payal Jain, and Dr. Ankit Jain for Ph.D. Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor Gold Medal was awarded to Ojal Singh, Dr. Sonal Dixit, and Dr. Rishi Shivhare for their exceptional performance. Former students selected in RVC (Remount Veterinary Corps) were also felicitated with commendation certificates.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Mangubhai Patel initiated his speech with the slogan "Pujya Nanaji Amar Rahein" and urged students to read about Nanaji Deshmukh’s life and embrace his ideals of social service. He appreciated the university’s research efforts in wildlife conservation and disease diagnosis and encouraged students to dedicate themselves to animal welfare, considering it a noble profession. Hon’ble Minister of Animal Husbandry, Lakhan Patel, congratulated the gold medalists and graduates. He emphasized the significance of animal husbandry as a means of economic growth and lauded Nanaji Deshmukh’s contributions to rural development. The keynote address was delivered by BN Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mandeep Sharma honored the distinguished guests with shawls, coconuts, and mementos. Later, Governor Mangubhai Patel visited the Narmada Girls' Hostel, inspecting the facilities and interacting with students.
