The All India Bank of Baroda Officers' Association (AIBOBOA), Bhopal Zone, celebrated International Women's Day with great zeal and participation from over 75 women employees of Bank of Baroda. The event was held at Hotel Country Side Meadows, Rohit Nagar, and was marked by inspiring addresses, fun-filled activities, and a tribute to the contributions of women in the workforce.
The celebration was graced by esteemed chief guests Mrs. Madhuri Mishra and Ms. Pawni Sapkal. Mrs. Mishra, a renowned social worker, has been dedicated to social causes since 1991, working towards the upliftment of slum children and running 'Apna Ghar,' an old age home that provides shelter and care to around 25 senior citizens. With over 3,000 awards for her social service, she was recently honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her relentless efforts in community service.
Ms. Pawni Sapkal, an 18-year-old athlete, has achieved the remarkable feat of becoming India's youngest female Ironman 70.3 finisher. On August 11, 2024, she completed the triathlon—comprising a 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling, and a 21.1 km run—in an impressive 7 hours and 22 minutes in Davao City, Philippines. She has also secured gold and bronze medals in state-level running competitions, setting an inspiring example for young athletes across the nation.
Addressing the gathering, both chief guests shared their experiences of struggle, determination, and achievement, leaving the audience inspired. Vinod Singh Negi, Zonal Secretary of AIBOBOA, emphasized the strength and contribution of female employees in the growth of the bank. He extended his wishes on Women's Day and conveyed regards on behalf of the central leadership of AIBOBOA.
The event was hosted by Ms. Shreya Pathak, Zonal Lady Coordinator, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Tripti Sharma, Regional President, Bhopal Region. The celebrations included various engaging activities such as a ramp walk, group games, a lemon race, and a kids' chair race, which saw enthusiastic participation from both women employees and their children.
The day concluded with a special lunch hosted by AIBOBOA for all female employees and their children. Winners of the games were honored with mementos and gifts in recognition of their spirited participation.
The grand success of the event was attributed to the collective efforts of the organizing team under the guidance of Mr. Vinod Singh Negi, with management by Mrs. Shreya Pathak and Mrs. Tripti Sharma. Their efforts were well supported by Mr. Manish Verma, Deputy Zonal Secretary, and Mr. Shashank Mishra, Regional Secretary, Bhopal Region. AIBOBOA Bhopal Zone extended heartfelt thanks to all the women employees who participated with enthusiasm, making the celebration of womanhood a memorable and meaningful occasion.
