This year's theme was "Change Your Mindset: Empower Yourself to Make Ear and Hearing Care a Reality for All!", aimed at raising awareness about hearing loss prevention, early detection, and rehabilitation possibilities.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. Dr. Aparna Chauhan, Head of the Department, who emphasized the need for behavioral changes to protect hearing health. She highlighted the importance of avoiding exposure to loud sounds, undergoing regular hearing tests, and using hearing aids to improve the lives of individuals with hearing impairments. Following this, Prof. Dr. Vikas Gupta conducted an informative awareness session on cochlear implantation, explaining how this revolutionary procedure can transform the lives of children with hearing loss. His lecture provided attendees with insights into the latest advancements in hearing restoration. The most inspiring moment of the event was a cultural performance by children who had received cochlear implants. Their performance demonstrated the significant life changes that hearing restoration can bring.
Prof. Singh appreciated the performances of the cochlear implant recipients and congratulated the department on the event's success. He emphasized the importance of early intervention and comprehensive support for individuals affected by hearing loss.
