Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), in its ongoing commitment to community health and emergency preparedness, organized a workshop on “Basic Life Support – Training of the Trainers” at its Baridih campus. The one-day program was conducted on April 26, 2025, with the aim of equipping participants with essential life-saving skills and the capability to train others within their organizations.
A total of 35 employees from Tata Motors, Jamshedpur, participated in the session. The training was organized by the Outreach department of MTMC in association with experienced faculty members of MTMC, who provided hands-on demonstrations and guided practical sessions on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and emergency response protocols.
The Training of Trainers model – a first of the kind initiative by Manipal Tata Medical College ensures sustainability by empowering trained employees to further disseminate life-saving skills among their peers at Tata Motors and within the broader community. This multiplier effect is expected to significantly strengthen emergency response capacity and promote a culture of safety and preparedness.
The initiative reflects the collaborative efforts between Outreach Dept,MTMC, Other departments of MTMC and Tata Motors in promoting health awareness and first responder readiness among industrial personnel. The workshop concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and a vote of thanks to the organizing team and attendees.
