BJP challenges AAP on Operation Lotus claims

Saturday, 08 February 2025 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

The BJP on Friday challenged former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to immediately file a police complaint if any of his party's candidates have been approached by the BJP for defection.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva stated that following Sanjay Singh's accusations yesterday, Delhi BJP General Secretary Vishnu Mittal has written to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, requesting an ACB investigation based on media reports regarding these allegations.

He also recalled that last year, Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena accused the BJP of running 'Operation Lotus' to buy MLAs. Following this, BJP media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor filed a defamation case, leading to Atishi currently being out on bail, with the matter pending in the Delhi High Court.

BJP MP from South Delhi Ramvir Singh Bidhuri also  challenged the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party and said if someone is offering them Rs 15 crores, then why are you not informing the police about it.  He also claimed Aam Aadmi Party is losing the elections badly and it seems that their mental balance has deteriorated even before the defeat. Making this assertion, Bidhuri also said even before being elected MLA, they are ready to sell themselves and have also decided their price themselves.

Bidhuri said the Aam Aadmi government is now left for only a few hours. Even in such a situation, they are not refraining from lying. The leaders of Aam Aadmi Party are not able to understand that they have deceived the people of Delhi by making false promises and due to this habit of theirs, the public is rejecting them.  Despite this, they have not learnt any lesson and are still resorting to lies.

Bidhuri said it is ridiculous that the election results have not come yet and Aam Aadmi Party MLAs have not been elected but they are saying that they are getting calls to buy them. He said as usual Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh and other Aam Aadmi Party leaders are not telling who is calling. Why are

they not informing the police about this?
