Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has reacted sharply to the allegations levelled by BJP state president Babulal Marandi on the state government regarding the incidents in Bhognadih on Hul Diwas. JMM general secretary cum spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey has said in a press statement issued today, “The law and order of the state is paramount. No one can be allowed to take it in their hands."
He said that on the occasion of Hul Diwas, a program was organized in Bhognadih with reverence and respect, but some anti-social elements tried to spoil the situation in a planned manner. In such a situation, the administration took action with restraint and sensitivity, so that the atmosphere could be prevented from deteriorating further. The government will definitely identify the anti-social elements and such people will be exposed. In the JMM-led government, divisive forces will never be allowed to raise their heads. All this is seen only in BJP-led governments.
"The safety of the people of the entire state cannot be put at risk due to the ignorance of a few people," he said.
Pandey said that the BJP is deliberately spreading misleading propaganda and trying to provoke people through false allegations.
"There is a rule of law in the state. The BJP should give up the role of irresponsible opposition and talk about constructive suggestions and issues of public interest," he added.
He said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Hemant Soren government have always given paramount importance to the protection of the history, identity and rights of the tribals. The BJP's allegation that the government is crushing the sentiments of the tribals is completely baseless and malicious.
"Hool Diwas is a symbol of our cultural consciousness. It is extremely shameful to use it for political purposes," he said.
Vinod Pandey said categorically that action will be taken against any person or organization that takes the law into its own hands - no matter which ideology or party it is associated with.
We believe in democracy, but anarchy will not be allowed. The state government is committed to the safety of every citizen, he added.
