BJP stages torch march against Pahalgam terror attack

In a strong show of protest against the terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joined a torch march organized by the Bhopal district unit of the party on Thursday evening.

BJP State President and Khajuraho MP Vishnu Dutt Sharma, State General Secretary (Organization) Hitanand Ji, and Bhopal District President Ravindra Yati participated in the march, which commenced from Nanke Petrol Pump in New Market and proceeded on foot to Roshanpura Square.

At Roshanpura, leaders and participants expressed outrage against the terrorist attack and observed a two-minute silence in memory of the deceased, paying heartfelt tributes to the victims.

Speaking during the march, BJP State President Vishnu Dutt Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will deliver a decisive blow to terrorism. He termed the attack on Hindu pilgrims in Pahalgam as a cowardly assault on the soul of India, asserting that such acts will not be tolerated. “The entire nation stands united in protest against this attack, and under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, terrorists will not be spared,” Sharma said.

Bhopal District President Ravindra Yati echoed these sentiments, stating that Prime Minister Modi has made it clear that the end of terrorism in India is imminent. He added that the attack in Pahalgam was not just on innocent civilians but on India’s sovereignty, and that the torch march was Bhopal's message of solidarity and support for the Prime Minister’s firm stance against terrorism.

A large number of BJP leaders and workers participated in the torch march. Among the prominent attendees were State Minister Vishwas Sarang, State Vice President Seema Singh, State General Secretary and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, Mayor Malti Rai, State Minister Rahul Kothari, former MLA Dhruvanarayan Singh, Pradeep Tripathi, Municipal Corporation Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi, Bhakti Sharma, Heerendra Bahadur Singh, Sunil Pandey, Manoj Rathore, Ram Bansal Renwal, Jagdish Yadav, District Media In-Charge Rajendra Gupta, BJYM District President Ajay Patidar, Ravi Sharma, Dr. Yogendra Mukhariya, and many more Mandal presidents, councillors, and office bearers.

The event witnessed massive participation by party workers, marking a collective demand for justice and a strong message against terrorism.

The torch march not only reflected public anger and grief over the Pahalgam attack but also served as a symbolic call for national unity and action against terrorism. Party leaders emphasized that such initiatives would continue across the state to keep the spotlight on national security and to ensure that the sacrifices of innocent victims do not go in vain.

The BJP leadership reiterated its commitment to supporting the central government's tough stance on terrorism and ensuring that those responsible face the harshest punishment under the law.
