Chhath to be held at 1,500 ghats, says Sachdeva

Chhath Puja will be held at 1,500 ghats, including the banks of Yamuna River, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said on Wednesday adding “what was what was promised regarding Chhath Puja has been fulfilled.”

Stating this, he said Rekha Gupta Government has delivered on another BJP election commitment regarding Chhath Puja and informed there will be 23 large natural ghats on the Yamuna banks, while approximately 1,300 artificial ghats are being developed. Additionally, about 200 more locations have been identified for artificial ghats based on public demand.

Sachdeva said the BJP’s Delhi Government has exposed the previous Arvind Kejriwal Government’s unethical ban on worship at Yamuna banks, fulfilling a long-standing demand raised through years of protests by BJP workers.

“It was our efforts last year before Chhath Puja — when we exposed the filthy Yamuna and Arvind Kejriwal’s inactivity — that have led, by Chhath Maiya’s blessings, to our government being formed in Delhi today,” said Sachdeva.

He added that while the Delhi Government is working with full commitment to prepare for Chhath, Delhi Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh will ensure proper sanitation.

“We will not rely solely on the Delhi Government or the Municipal Corporation for preparations and cleanliness. Under the leadership of our Purvanchal Morcha President Santosh Ojha, our workers will conduct a massive cleanliness campaign at all natural and artificial ghats.”

All BJP MPs, MLAs, councilors, and senior leaders will visit various ghats to support and ensure the success of the best-ever Chhath Puja celebrations organised by Rekha Gupta’s Government.
