Chief Minister leads grand Tiranga Yatra in Ujjain

Saturday, 17 May 2025 | PNS | Ujjain

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav led a grand Tiranga Yatra in Ujjain on Friday to express gratitude for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, which was carried out by the Indian Army against terrorists. The yatra, symbolizing national unity and pride, commenced from Shaheed Park where Dr. Yadav paid floral tributes at the Jai Stambh and flagged off the march on horseback.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Yadav hailed the Indian Army’s courage and valor, stating, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Army entered Pakistani territory and avenged the loss of our brave soldiers. Operation Sindoor has sent a strong message to the world about India’s military might and unwavering national unity. No matter how cunning the enemy may be, our unity remains unbreakable. National unity is paramount, and any attempt to harm it will be met with a strong response.”

Dr. Yadav also drew inspiration from Ujjain's historic legacy, referring to the land of Lord Mahakal and Samrat Vikramaditya, who repelled foreign invaders with unmatched courage over 2000 years ago. “Today, our forces have displayed the same spirit of valor and heroism,” he added.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to the families of martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation, emphasizing, “The Tricolour is our pride and identity—we must always honor it. These Tiranga Yatras are sending a global message that Indians are united and prepared to sacrifice everything for the nation's security.”

The Tiranga Yatra saw participation from the families of martyrs, ex-servicemen, Rajya Sabha MP Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj, MP Anil Firozia, Minister-in-Charge Gautam Tetwal, MLAs Anil Jain Kaluheda and Satish Malviya, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Council Chairperson Kalavati Yadav, former Union Minister Satyanarayan Jatia, and several dignitaries, community leaders, and social organizations. The procession was led by the families of martyrs in decorated carriages.

The yatra passed through prominent city locations including Chamunda Mata Chauraha, Dewas Gate, Malipura, and Daulatganj, finally culminating at Fawwara Chowk. The procession was accompanied by police and community bands, including performances from the Bohra community, and featured patriotic music and cultural presentations. Citizens from all faiths participated enthusiastically, affirming the spirit of national unity.

At several points along the route, floral showers and welcome platforms were set up to honor the participants and the cause.
