Friday, 02 May 2025 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is fully committed to bringing the tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh into the mainstream of development. In alignment with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the development of tribal areas is being accelerated with a focus on the implementation of PESA rules, ensuring the comprehensive welfare of tribal brothers and sisters.

He highlighted that tribal families living in remote regions are now receiving the full benefits of Central Government schemes, including pucca houses, free ration, and free medical treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Dr. Yadav emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to secure a bright future for every poor and underprivileged child in the state. To support and empower tendu leaf collectors, the government has increased the procurement price by Rs 1,000—raising it to Rs 4,000 per standard sack—and is also providing bonuses.

He informed that there are currently around 15,000 forest committees operating in the state. Minor forest produce committees, he added, are playing a key role in providing safe and sustainable self-employment opportunities for the tribal population.Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while addressing the Tendu Patta, Forest Committees, and Tribal Conference held in Harsud, Khandwa district, on Thursday.

Yadav distributed torches and walking sticks equipped with modern features such as FM radio to elderly residents of the region and handed over benefit cheques and e-rickshaws to eligible beneficiaries under various government schemes.

He also performed Bhoomi Pujan and inaugurated several development projects, including new schools and hospitals.

Dr. Yadav took part in the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, a state-run initiative focused on water conservation, during his visit to Harsud. On this occasion, a short film was screened highlighting the importance of saving every drop of rainwater. As a major gift to the region, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced key development projects for Harsud, including a Rs 20 crore hospital, the establishment of Sandipani Adarsh Vidyalaya, and a new Rs 45 crore irrigation project.

The program was graced by the presence of Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey, Minister for Tribal Affairs and Public Asset Management Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State for Forest and Environment Dilip Ahirwar, MLA Narayan Patel, MLA  Chhaya Patel, along with several other public representatives and beneficiaries.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav remarked that today, the elderly have received a “modern magic wand,” symbolizing the state government’s commitment to both supporting and honoring senior citizens. He stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Madhya Pradesh government is working in mission mode to build a prosperous, strong, and developed state.

Highlighting key initiatives, Dr. Yadav noted that a state-wide campaign is underway to expand irrigation coverage, which will directly benefit farmers. He emphasized that Madhya Pradesh offers the highest wheat procurement price in the country at Rs 2,600 per quintal.

Referring to the two national river-linking projects initiated in the state, he mentioned that the government is actively resolving all outstanding issues with neighboring states. After reaching agreements with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh is now moving forward with water-sharing arrangements with Maharashtra.

Dr. Yadav also shared that the construction of Gita Bhawans is progressing across the state. Additionally, the government has decided to develop one Adarsh Gram (model village) and one Vrindavan Gram in every block to promote holistic and culturally enriched rural development.
