Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will distribute laptops under the Meritorious Student Incentive Scheme on Friday, July 4, at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre in Bhopal. School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh will also be present at the event.
As part of the Meritorious Student Incentive Scheme of the School Education Department, students who secured 75% or more marks in the 12th board examination of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education will receive an incentive of Rs 25,000 for purchasing a laptop. This year, a total amount of Rs 235.58 crore has been allocated for 94,234 students.
More than 500 students and teachers from across the state are expected to participate in the event. In the previous academic year (2023-24), Rs 224.27 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 89,710 meritorious students. Since its inception in 2009-10, the scheme has transferred a total of Rs 1,080.04 crore to the bank accounts of 432,016 students over the last 15 years.
This initiative aims to support students in acquiring laptops, helping them continue their education with the tools necessary for their academic and professional growth.
