Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said the government will take care of all the facilities for “Shiv bhakts†who will come to the national capital during the Kanwar Yatra.
The Chief Minister held a meeting to discuss preparations for the Kanwar Yatra. Delhi cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra also attended the meeting. Following the meeting, Gupta said, “The entire government will be involved. We will take care of all the facilities for Shiv bhakts in a transparent manner,†she said.
CM Gupta alleged that irregularities used to happen under the tenure of previous governments.
“We will eliminate irregularities and work. From cleanliness to tents and toilets, kanwar camps will be provided with everything,†she added. The Chief Minister also stated that her government would actively monitor the camps through ministers, District Magistrates (DMs), and District Development Committee (DDC) chairpersons to ensure timely redressal of all concerns.
“We will ensure that not even a pebble hurts the feet of Shiv Bhakts. The Kanwar Yatra is a festival of faith, discipline, and devotion, and the government will do everything possible to make it seamless,†she said.
Senior ministers including Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra were present during the review meeting along with DDC chairpersons, DMs and senior officials from various departments including Fire, Power, Delhi Municipal Corporation, and others.
CM Gupta addressed several long-standing complaints raised by the Kanwar camp organizers, assuring them that they would not face the kind of administrative hurdles they reportedly experienced under the previous government.
“You shared that despite crores of rupees being spent earlier, basic administrative issues were not addressed. That will not be the case this time,†she said.
The Government will also ensure a robust support system to handle key services such as medical assistance, supply of essential medicines, power supply, water availability, sanitation, mobile toilets, fire safety, security arrangements, and traffic regulation.
All required permissions for setting up the camps will be made available through the single-window clearance to avoid unnecessary delays and bureaucratic challenges.
Further, she urged the camp officials to communicate any additional concerns.
“We will take steps to resolve even the minor issues. We want to make the entire process transparent so that the Kanwar committees receive full benefits of government schemes and support,†she said.
