A significant anti-encroachment drive was conducted today by the Chas Municipal Corporation under the leadership of Additional Municipal Commissioner (AMC) Sanjeev Kumar. The operation stretched from Pandey Pool in Chira Chas to Kunj Vihar Pool, where unauthorized encroachments along the main roads were identified and addressed.
Violators were instructed to remove the encroachments immediately, and on-the-spot penalties amounting to 6,500 were imposed. The drive aimed to clear public pathways and improve civic accessibility.
AMC Sanjeev Kumar appealed to all residents to voluntarily dismantle any illegal structures they have erected. He cautioned that failure to comply will invite strict legal action under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2011. “Any encroachment detected during municipal inspections will result in action for which individuals themselves will be held accountable,” he stated.
The drive was supported by a team comprising Municipal Manager, ATP officials, Revenue Inspectors, Legal Assistants, Sanitation Supervisors and workers, PIU personnel, Tax Collectors, Home Guard personnel, and Traffic Police, along with Assistant Municipal Commissioner Jaipal Singh.
