In a proactive move to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season, Chas Municipal Corporation launched a cleanliness drive in the Singari Joria area on Monday. The operation was carried out by a team of sanitation workers under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha.
To ensure smooth drainage and avoid urban flooding, the corporation has intensified the cleaning of various drains across the city. Silt and waste are being removed from major drains and jorias to facilitate the free flow of rainwater in different wards.
The ongoing operations are being personally monitored by the Additional Municipal Commissioner of Chas. Along with manual labor, machinery such as JCBs, tractors, and other utility vehicles are being deployed to complete the work efficiently.
This initiative reflects the administration’s preparedness and commitment to safeguarding residents from seasonal disruptions.
