In a firm message to the public, Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh on Friday urged citizens to obey traffic rules for their own safety and the wellbeing of others.
During a visit to the Smart City office, Singh reviewed the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS). He was briefed on the e-challan process and the methods available for penalty payment. He directed officials to provide detailed data on traffic rule violations, challans issued, and penalties collected since January 1, 2025.
Singh instructed regular monitoring and follow-ups to ensure timely payment of challans. In the meeting, he issued key directives for better implementation of the system and effective use in governance and traffic management.
Present at the meeting were DCP Traffic Sanjay Singh, Revenue Deputy Commissioner Kiran Gupta, ADM Prakash Nayak, Smart City CEO Anju Arun Kumar, SDM Ravish Srivastava, and other concerned officials.
He also directed DCP Sanjay Singh to intensify vehicle checking until May 31. Specific focus will be on over-speeding, jumping of traffic signals, illegal parking, and driving without valid documents. Singh reminded citizens that following traffic rules is a civic duty. It not only reduces accidents but ensures safety for all. Breaking rules endangers lives—your own and others’.
